Yes, for my sins I have to work with Navision as well as the million + 1 things that also have to be dealt with ;-)

We always try to work exclusivly with the MS SQL client not just for ease of data access from internal/external sources but for the complete toolset ie. DTS, OLAP and Reporting Services. We deploy a standard set of VFP components, which includes interfaces for handling MS Message Queue, XML and Web Services. XML is a good example of VFP simplifying a task, although version 4 of Navision introduces native XML handling. String handling ... the list goes on.
