Let me swing the pendulum back to the other extreme here just for argument sake ---

>This also is fed, by the fact he continues to bash VFP and promote .NET while he choosed another profession. WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING UP HERE THEN?

This does not rise to the level of "bannishment" offenses so what relevance is this?

>JVP admitted in a thread he is no .NET expert, so you'll have to ask the question in how much he can set himself as an authority. somthing beeing correct is only applicable in the context they are written. I won't argue that some of his statements are correct, but they often are misleading or either just plain incomplete or incorrect.

If this is part of any justification for a bannishment, then half the members of UT would have to go. I am a .NET idiot so does that mean I can not participate in the .NET forum if I happen by some miracle to know the answer to a question?

>As JVP did many times here. You don't have to guess, it is already here on the UT.

Since he "served his time" before, what caused his previous bannishment should have ZERO to do with any subsequent actions by the UT.

>I'm not that sorry, though I want to express that I don't have anything to do with his banishment here from the UT. If john is not arround then it becomes possible again to discuss .NET in a constuctive way again. And your role in this might be an important one, if you can resist the presure not to see every argument as an attack, but rather as an attempt to find the advantages and disadvantages (we all know there are disadvantages) between .NET and VFP development.

I will concede that John has issues with debate etiquette and style points, but his technical responses that I have read have provided have been sound. However, I will also concede that I have precious little time to read through much of anything here especially over the past month when all this seems to have flared up. What I have read in the few messages I have had time to peruse, including your reply here to Kevin's message, IMO, hardly rises to the level of bannishment.

Can EVERYONE who "debated" JVP over the past however many weeks say they are 100% clean of not contributing to JVPs demise? How many threads were STARTED with JVP in the title in an effort to personally attack him? Have the starters of those threads been bannished?

Based on what I am seeing here, I probably should have been suspended [as well as a few others] for blasting Ellen Whitney when she posted the VFP Conversion message for EPS Software a few months back. Upon reflection, I wish all my replies to that thread would disappear from the UT and from the memories of anyone who read what I posted there. That was a very stupid and irrational brain hemorrage on my part.

Count me as one who regrets seeing John go. Oh well, I still have his home phone #.
