This shouldn't be. If my EXE's icon shows up everywhere else except when creating the shortcut on the desktop, this is not consistent. Not directing my complaint towards you, just don't understand what I can do (if anything) to correct this.

Can you see your icon in the executable (via the change icon dialog)? If not, it needs to be embedded in the EXE. I know I can see mine, and the actually icon file is nowhere on my path.
