Kevin,

The text to which I responded was:

>>I continue to strongly believe that the perceived differences between the two technologies is based on a 'mom and pop' model that is becoming increasingly marginal.

Your use of the word "perceived" means I can agree with you, because the perceived "mom and pop" pigeonhole for VFP is without much merit. VFP *can* do mom and pop, but that's not all it can do. VFP, VB, delphi and even Java 1.0 were all used for big systems long before dotNET came on the scene. Big-system VFP people who review dotNET certainly note some of the truly remarkable performance issues. Some are suitably impressed and go for it. Others prefer to wait for richer functionality such as disk-spanning local datasets to see how things pan out after that.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
