>Out of curiosity, why do you say that?

I saw it somewhere on the internet and thought it was funny. I repeated it here for our collective amusement.

Objectivism can be summed up as "capitalism = good", and while I don't think this "philosophy" is wrong in any way, I do think:

1. The system of capitalism already says that "capitalism = good" by mere virtue of its existence, we don't need a new philosophy to say that.

and

2. She tries to take this philosophy and put it on an epistemological and metaphysical foundation that I wouldn't readily accept

Instead of objectivism I tend towards critical rationalism:

This line of thought is more about how to understand knowledge, how to make it better by solving problems. Objectivism, as it has come accross to me at least, is more about what a perfect world would be like. It describes a utopian system (or at least Rand's version of one) and how you should act in it. When it comes to philosophy it seems as if objectivism is hardly a practical tool, except in discussions that occur late late at night after many many drinks and other mind altering chemicals.

But then I haven't read much about objectivism so I could be wrong.
