Hello everyone,

I have received a SQL server backup from a customer. The database does not already exist on our SQL server. I am trying to use this backup to establish the database on our SQL server.

I have placed the backup in the standard SQL server backup folder. Using the following command in QA :-
RESTORE DATABASE Computers
	from Computers.bak
I get the following error message(s) :-
Server: Msg 3206, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
No entry in sysdevices for backup device 'Computers.bak'. Update sysdevices and rerun statement.
Server: Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
I tried to restore the backup from EM but there did not appear to be a way to do this because I was unable to specify the source "Computers.bak" file.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thank you.

Angie.
