I know it is annoying, and we never really solved the problem. I guess we maintain the view that Microsoft likes to make other party's products (Novell) work not-so-good with Windows, in an attempt to make the end user cut out third party products.

I installed all service packs and updates and releases to the novell client. When we did that, it only delayed the menu from coming up the first time you tried when you boot, and then after that it was normal.

It's been a while, but I do not recall every having this problem with an OS other than W2K at least SP3. Try installing W2KSP2 and see if that alleviates the problem.
