>I remember a walk where I had to go for a few hundred meters along a precipice. The road was more than a meter wide, so it was not objectively dangerous. But I got really dizzy, and decided not to do it again. I wonder whether there is a way to get used to heights. Would practice help?

Like, trying it with a small toy helicopter first? (OK, this is the last silly enrichment of this thread from me).

I was never really sure whether I had fear of heights or not. I've done a lot of climbing and walking on uneven or unstable surfaces while building our house. I even nailed the edging sheets on roof edge (height of roughly 10m) and put half the tiles there, and wasn't really scared, just cautious. Later, when I remember where I was and what I did, I nearly repainted my pants.
