Neil,

Some good suggestions have been raised- such as "read only" status for ejectees. I'm sure UT will consider such ideas once they are allowed to come out from inside the circled wagons.

What concerns me most is the strategic "contributions" from certain posters to keep matters on the boil. I smell contrivance. The only stated purpose for the fuss is an accusation of censorship from somebody who does not come here often enough to pass comment, and concern that members may be unable to use UT from a certain institution that is currently blocked.

One wonders whether perhaps Michel confirmed that only one member posts from that IP. Alternatively, where are the aggrieved UT members who are working for that organisation? Why haven't they posted from home to confirm their disadvantage? Perhaps there are none, or perhaps we will hear from a member who last posted in 1998 but suddenly felt a need to visit UT again today. Certainly in the absence of proof, it all seems completely out of proportion.

I think at least one poster is fanning the flames for some ulterior motive. We shall see.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
