IMO not a good idea to use SELECT * in any case. Prior to VFP 8 the easiest way to avoid was just changing the order of two of the field in the View Designer. ( and an even better idea was to use something like Steve Sawyer's View Edit and avoid using the VFP View Designer. I have to admit, the VFP 8.0 view designer has stopped most of my whining to Randy.
