Ok, I think we're getting there...

I've just tried XCOPY *.* D:\ where the original files have various dates, and all the files on the destination drive d:\ have the date and timestamp that I copied them!

When I try XCOPY *.* \TEMP (ie. copy to another folder on the same drive), the dates and times are preserved.

So I guess my next problem is to find a way of being able to copy to another drive, but still preserving the original info.
