I agree. I also like THX 1138 - the first movie George Lucas made. Both movies seem topical, contemporary and all too real!

I was in the Air Force when Dr. Strangelove was released. It was too authentic! In fact I think I met some of the characters from the movie in real life, who controlled major elements of the Air Force. :)
