>>Hi, I have been told that there is a way in Win32API to halt the current program (.exe), copy the updated (.exe) file and restart the program from the new (.exe) file. Is this true? Does anyone know of the API functions involved.

What this type of program does is to first compare the date/time of a local executable against that of one on the network. If the program on the network is newer, the launcher copies it to the local drive. Then it starts the real program.

Assuming the "launcher" program works from day one (which never requires updating ;-) is written in VFP, how can it start the real VFP program without staying in memory? I really don't want to use DOS batch files.

Thanks for the reply.
