>Its only fuzzy because it is continually evolving.

Right, concluded as such.

>Ah, ok. I agree about the marketing bit. Thats why we hear about "string theory". The superstrings makes no actual scientificly verified predictions. Its status of as a theory is widely taken with a grain of salt. But it is known as "string theory" because that is the marketing term developed for it. And its worked pretty well, despite the theory being regarded as little more than fashion or fantasy by critics in science.

And note that this is physics, where there's already a vast investment in equipment, and thousands of very qualified people who can check a theory in a relatively short time (few years). And still it suffers from fashionable theories, and the PR around them (maybe just to keep the focus of the public occupied with something, so that they keep the funding and can work undisturbed, on real stuff).

The philosophy/political economy/economy triangle is, I think, much more prone to fashions. There's no way to prove any of them wrong, unless you find a bad flaw in the method, or let them try it out and wait for the society built on their theory collapse. Even then they can claim they have been right, it's the implementation that didn't follow the guidelines.

>I don't hate my work.

I took the "without working" a little too seriously, then.

>I'd just rather sit outside and play guitar for the college girls around here. Is that so wrong? :-)

It is. Include the guys as well - I remember a few guitar players who did what you intend to, and I'm eternally grateful to them for providing the atmosphere (oxygen, hydrogen etc). There are situations where the guy with the guitar is an indispensable ingredient, but not when he's the only guy :).

>We'll see. Its been quite some time since I've had any drink.

Drink little, drink well. I'm down to a dozen beers a year, and maybe the equivalent of two other drinks of choice. But then, when I do drink, it's a pleasure. Have a good one or two!
