Thanks for the reply, by the time we found out about Stonefield we had written utilities to do most of what it does.
Also I think I have found the original problem, the 2 client had run 2 update routines out of sequence, they mustn't have read the instructions properly.
>I think the most well known is Stonefield Database Toolkit. It's not free but It works, and has other useful stuff for manipulating metadata and make basic repairs. If you have 500 sites having one of these tools is a great aid.
