There are two types of views in VFP - LOCAL and REMOTE.

If one uses local VFP tables as data source, you use a local view. This is the one discussed here in this thread.

Using data via ODBC will require you to create REMOTE VIEWS.

You need to create an ODBC connection using ODBC Data Source Admin found in Control Panel before you create a remote view.
