The company where I used to work purchased SAP. Based on the presentations made and the answers given to all our inquiries. It was clear that SAP was the solution to our companys' computing problems. During implementation we found out that a lot of the stuff we were told were only possible if we purchased another module or another server. During their initial study they made both software and hardware recommendations. Based on that we prepared our budget. Only to find out during implementation that if we wanted to get what we needed we would need to strech our budget as in really really really strech it!!! We were in so much hot water from management because of this. We were in a trap! And because of the large amount already disbursed, the project could not be stopped! We execeeded our budget by more that 1000 percent and I'm not exagerating!

Aside from that it made the I.T. staffs work much harder! Their development tools suck! As in, something that would take us 1 day to develop in VB would take more than a month with SAP's tools!

User's life became harder since the number of steps increased! If in the old system a certain transaction would take 2-3 steps, in SAP it took 7.

Their support sucks!

Implementation time table was 6 mos to 1 year. Actuall implementation was 5 years!!! And this guys are expensive!!!

Basically SAP does not care much about their users. Their care more about how much they can squeez out of you! It's all about the money!!!

Anyway, bottom line is... because of this project I lost my job.
