QuietMode and AllowModalMessages control the behavior of *desired* ReportListener messages (coming from DoStatus and DoMessage methods) under different conditions.

These properties do not impact the behavior of VFP in the sense that a line of code that ordinarily results from VFP echoing some result to the current output window, completely outside the ReportListener's control, is not affected by their value.

IOW... Just because a line of code such as APPEND FROM may have occurred in a Listener method doesn't mean that VFP treats the line of code any differently. Its output is still controlled by SET TALK, SET ODOMETER, the current value of WOUTPUT() etc.
