Hi Mike:

OK, all the answers are the same.

I can write the code so that no one has the files open very long by using temp files and cursors for most of the real work. This way the conflict will not be an issue.

I find it strange however that "Used" only refers to the current user.

But now that I understand what is going on, I can work around it.
