Your suggestions have been discussed within our team. It has been decided that the current infrastructure remains as is.

Some of the highlights that was brought to the table:

1. The current infrastructure has worked great so far, after almost 10 years, so there isn't something in such magnitude that is justified right now.

2. The Universal Thread, for this area, is a technical support engine and we don't want to turn it or have people to think that this is now a complaint support engine.

3. As mentioned before, and also in some related points in our released document recently, because this is a private site, and how this has worked before, we judge that we are in a position to decide and act on those situations when present.

4. Most of those points are in reference to the banishment procedures and those have been pretty much isolated in the last few years. Only a few individuals have been affected by that which we think is pretty good for such a product we offer with the amount of members we have.

5. As for providing grace periods and such for members providing an inappropriate attitude online, we judge that this should not be applicable. As mainly as referenced in point 3 and also because we have shown a great amount of tolerance for members in such situations over the years. We tolerated, tolerated and tolerated a lot of inappropriate behaviors from members. So, it means, when someone is related to a banishment procedure, that's because we have enough of it. Turning an account into a read only mode, providing a come back after two weeks and such will simply, in most cases, have the related inviduals to start over again by breaking the same or more rules within a certain period of time. It's not as if we wouldn't have tolerated at all and would have acted on the first occurence of a broken rule.

6. Breaking threads would also provide more problems. Members should just pay more attention to remain within the same topic and simply create a new thread when the desire of it is present. Those members that are hijacking threads should understand that it is in their best advantage to create a new thread as it will give more exposure to the related topic they want to discuss instead of hidding it somewhere down the tree of an existing thread where most of the members are probably not reading from the related branches anymore.

7. Freezing only a message within a thread is also another cause of problems. We will certainly not lock the ability for a member to reply to a specific message in a thread when the other messages in the thread still allow that ability. We do however lock the ability for someone to reply to a message when the poster of the related message has been banned. This is new since recently. You may see our Site News for that. In regards to freezing things, we have frozen some threads when we had good justifications for it. In that case, it became frozen for everyone. This is different as all members of the thread became within the same situation. As for the amount of frozen threads, they are extremely low compare to the million messages we have so far. This is also something that happened in rare occasions.

8. As for the recognition you are asking us to do, yes, this product is a business. Yes, it deals with a community - one of greatest one BTW.

While all of those suggestions have not been taken into considerations, it doesn't mean we won't get back to them in the future.

Thanks for sending them.
