YES! Since VFP5 or so the "not a table" error has not been detected UNTIL VFP8, when the "SET TABLEVALIDATE" command was introduced and defaulted to 'chek for errors'.

You *can* use "SET TABLEVALIDATE TO 0" to get back the same handling as in previous versions.
