>>>...My EXE shows my icon in the Windows Explorer with no problem, but when I try to create a short-cut, the Fox icon is initially displayed. I have to click the change icon button and pick my ICO file.
>>
>>Now, see, I have the *opposite* problem. I made .ico's (32x and 16x), I made masks, put them in my project 'assigned' the icon to the project and built it. Now when I create a shortcut I get MY icon, but when I view the .exe in explorer I see the VFP fox.
>>
>>Also, in spite of having created and included the .msk files in my project, I still don't have a transparent background(border) on my icon.

>>Any ideas?

>I don't think that you need the MSK files. What you can do with ImageEdit is define the screen background portion of the icon first (which will show up as transparent), then the icon itself.
To avoid this you have to right click on the project window, choose project info, then choose project. in this window you'll find a checkbox with: attach an icon, check it and finally pick the choose icon dialog box to locate the icon you want to use with your app.
I'm a mixture of Albert Einstein and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The only trouble is that I got Einstein's body and Schwarzenegger's brain
