Was the tent where there were breakfasts and snacks also? I remember at the devcon I attended there were luncheons in a tent. I could swear the one I attended was at the Pointe because back when I lived in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley I had ostrich eggs at the Pointe. There were 2 Pointes back then. I loved it there and was excited to go back when the conference was held there. I couldn't stay at the Pointe though because they were overbooked and I registered too late to get a room. I had to stay down the road and rent a car to get back and forth. It really was a great conference. One of the door prizes was a laptop computer. Some of the sessions were so crowded people were standing in the rear in rows and some that wanted to attend couldn't get in the door and had to choose another session. We got a t-shirt that had a coyote with a red bandanna howling on it... I meant to check it at home yesterday. I definitely will tonight. I'm sure the year and location is on the t-shirt...

>You mention that one session was held in a tent, and I am willing to bet my hat that you are talking about the Advisor devcon at Pointe Hilton at Squaw Peak in Phoenix in 1995, which was held the year before the Advisor devcon at the Scottsdale Princess. I remember the tent very well, and I also remember that we relatively early during that devcon were told that this would be the only time ever they used a tent. All the planes which flew over the place made it necessary to pause the sessions for a minute or two so the attendees could hear the speakers. I still have the T-shirt with two black foxes with red scarves howling at the moon.

>By the way, it was also the first time I met you, when I sat down between you and some other speakers at the restaurant by the sports bar the night before the devcon started. I had no idea which prominent people I had met, I only say you had FoxPro T-shirts, so I knew you were one of 'us'. For me that was a memorable moment, the first ever non-norwegian Fox programmer I talked to was Calvin Hsia! I am very proud when I notice that he still remembers me by name.

>>>Was it 94 or 96 that was in Scottsdale, AZ at the Pointe? Whichever it was, I'd easily believe that there were 3000 attendees...it was CROWDED. :o)

>>There were two different Fox conferences in Scottsdale in a fairly short time. Advisor ran one in '94 or '95 (I think October of '95), then Devcon was there in '96. I never remember which hotel was which, but the Devcon had one set of sessions in a tent. That was the first time Rick Strahl spoke at DevCon.

>>There was no Devcon in '94. We had Orlando in fall '93, then San Diego in January '95.
