There is no greater pleasure in driving IMHO than driving the autobahns in a German made BMW (Never got to drive a porsche on it)! However, to enjoy it you really need to drive a German manuafactured vehicle that is manufactured FOR Germany, not any other country (like BMWs manufactured for use in the U.S. do not count). However, keep in mind a few rules (unless they have changed since I drove on it - hopefully someone from Germany will update my comments below if they have changed):

It is illegal to run out of gas on the autobahn.
It is illegal to flash highbeams at you to indicate for you to move out of the way (but EVERYONE does it).
Passing on the right is illegal.
Stopping, parking, u-turns, and driving in reverse is illegal.
During a traffic jam (this should be incorporated around the world) you have to leave the middle lane open - (everyone on the left moves as far to the left as possible and everyone on the right moves as far to the right as possible).
All breakdowns must move to the shoulder and put up the warning triangle and phone authorities using the closes phone.
There is a recommended speed limit (80 mph) in most places and if you have an accident and exceed the recommended speed limit you may have to pay for the damages incurred.

>Well, i understand what you mean by tight schedule ( even if i am my own boss ), since i live in a tight schedule since i started building solutions in xBase :-)
>I don't speak German neither, but i think most sessions will be in English, and besides, who cares, as long as i can get out of the pressure for a few days, meet nice VFPers and learn new stuff in the way...
>Also, i plan on renting a really nice car and try German Autobahns, which is one of my dreams for a long while...
