It seems to me like you are having licensing problems. W2K comes with 5 licenses, and from what you say, the computer you are connecting to is still accepting other people's connection, just not yours.

When was the last time you were able to connect to it? Did you not use it for like a month or so? I'm 99% sure that your problems will dissapear if you switch to XP Pro... but sadly, not all of us have the money to spend on something like this.
