Claudio: We considered your topics for Southwest Fox, and it is a tough decision as coordinators of a conference to pick topics for the conference! We are carrying the torch for Whilfest and wanted to pattern our content after Whil's great conferences. DevCon is a great conference for learning the current technologies and what is ahead, but since "we are one", it is important to provide content for developers using VFP6, and VFP7. We also are providing a lot of content that helps people do their job better that isn't even FoxPro. OOP, re-architechting your old code for business objects, setting up a windows server, client relations, implementing design patterns into VFP, desiging databases, automation, API, windows event log - to name just a few off the top of my head. We also have one whole track dedicated to VFP 9 only.

Or next conference will branch out into more interoperability with .NET as well as other technologies including ASP, building server applications and web services. They will be presented from a VFP focus as our VB.Net session is this year. We also plan to include more SQL server at beginner and intermediate levels rather than the expert sessions normally presented.

We really wanted to give everyone that submitted topics a chance to speak, but this is our first conference and we had to make some decisions. It is important to mention that the decisions rest in the hands of two people. There is no pressure for us to do anything. There has been only tremendous support from Whil, Drew Speedie and VDS, our speakers, or vendors, and we appreciate Ken Levy for presenting a keynote at our conference.
