Hello Simplicio,

As far as I know (I read that somewhere), internally, there are no differences between Text and Image data types in SQL Server.

However, "by-design", I would store text in the text datatype and binary documents in an image field.

You can also consider that some functions works on text and not on image fields.. for example the PATINDEX function.
