Gotchya. The "sharing" part just gets me sometime. And yes, my way would have the negative effect of possibly narrowing the playing field to certain areas but here's a novel idea. How about just limiting the players salaries or better yet, paying them on peformance (ie. $5 a home run, $1 for every RBI, strikeout, etc.). That way the better players still make more than the mediocre ones. It all boils down to money I guess. The players think they deserve to make a cut of what the owners make and the owners say they take all the risks and should make more. I guess it's one that can be argued both ways and there is no clear cut winner. After our next civil war (which will occur when the middle class no longer exists, just the haves and the have nots) it won't really much matter anyway. Wait a minute! That's not my normal optimistic view!
