I've only a SWAG here. Most C5 errors indicate that there's been a corruption of memory. It's the old "GPF".
I believe that app files still run in the current address space as the caller. If this is the case, then increasing the amount of memory available to the application might be the solution.
Unfortunately, the reserved word MEMLIMIT is no longer documented so that solution isn't available
