it is still running, but i may have it fixed. when you do the import wizard, do a save instead of run now. then go to the DTS section and double click on the DTS that you saved. now double click on the black arrow. goto the options tab and enter 10000 or 50000 into the insert batch size. you may have to go to your database properties and set transaction log to autogrow. hope this helps someone else.
