I can't for the life of me figure out why the situation is not only accepted, but actually encouraged!!
We are at the point with .NET, as I read/understand the many posts on the subject that I've read here and elsewhere, that people are perfectly happy having some THIRD PARTY site/BLOG/magazine/etc document basically any aspect of .NET letting Microsoft produce none or poor such documentation for their own product!!!
This is a serious departure from the past, where such offerings SUPPLEMENTED the MS-supplied documentation.

I don't know why (or how) people can even trust such third party documentation! What if the documented item - so well explained and demonstrated - is scheduled for major facelift soon?... What if it's scheduled for obsolescence real soon now?... What if it's perfect except that it flies in the face of 'recommended' (oops, who knows what those might be) practises? What if....

Personally one of the major things that has me holding back on .NET is all the things I come across saying how crappy the .NET documentation is. Good for MS (as long as people accept this deteriorating situation) for profit/flexibility/committment but very very bad for the user.
