Nuno,
Did SET TABLEVALIDATE do anything for you?
Or better, did you try to move the data to a different HD?
Although you say that nothing has changed, some things outside of the application *do* change. For instance:
a) Users get "smarter" and start using other features of the system that they didn't use previuosly.
b) Users find "tricks" that seem to work. Maybe one such trick is looking OK when they do it but later has impact on the application.
c) Same users... what about newer users? Is there some person who always worked at the place BUT is NOW using the application? Maybe their 'training' was not that great, or maybe they don't understand about shutting down properly...?
d) Computers may have been moved or otherwise manipulated, possibly resulting in a loose cable.
e) Is any user reporting random "oddities" about their system (not just in your application). Things like 'it just freezes' or 'it takes a long time for some things sometimes' or ...? If so, maybe their system has a flaky RAM card.
f) Maybe someone has made changes to the network setup, replacing hubs or even NICs on some systems. Some newer NICs have a power saving feature that kicks in after n seconds. That can be a real killer for any data and such features MUST be turned OFF.
g) Maybe some wires have been re-routed, now encountering electrical interference where there was none before.
h) Maybe some user now has some device - even like a coffee maker - that is interfering with their power quality or causing interference with a cable on their system.
good luck
