I went back and took a look at some of the forms I've done like this just to be sure...none of them are MM based. Not that it can't be done, but in my situations, the extra stuff that you get with an MM based form just wasn't relevant to the situation. They weren't updatable forms...they were more like dialog forms. Which, I think, is kind of you situation as well. So, if it were me, I'd opt for solution 1).
