Well, you're right that the article says it's seen in Asia, but I have the software package Starry Night Pro and it looks like it almost misses the Earth all together. It looked to me that only Russia and Alaska will notice it.

Those more fimaliar with how to use Starry Night probably know of a better way to see the eclipse info, but I put myself on the Sun, looked at Earth, changed the date and time, and played it fast-forward.

I can email you a MOV file I created of it if you're interested. It's 1.6 MB. There is a way in Starry Night to remove the clouds on Earth, but I couldn't find the option. So, it's not great, but still interesting.
