>We are at the analysis phase of implementing a blog engine for a client. Despite the fact that we know this is not the best way to go, we'll do our best to respond to the client needs by providing such engine combined with a database engine. The backend will be SQL Server. We need to target on some .NET support for a high percentage of the project. Are there any blog engine that are most to .NET than others? Or, is this simply not related at all and such engine is in no way compliant with custom SQL Server that we would have? Basically, is a blog engine an engine on its own and there wouldn't be no way of communicating with it from the outside.

Telligent Systems ( http://www.telligentsystems.com/Solutions/OpenSource.aspx ) created the BLOG engine that host http://weblogs.asp.net/ ... It is an open source application.

I thought it was missing a few features so I decided to create my own a while back. I created a web app I called Better Log in ASP.net / VB which uses a SQL datasource. The BetterLog application is a bit different in the fact that it allows searching within the log entries as well as all the log entries hosted on the server. I have been working on a ASP.net resource site and it (the Better Log source) was one of the things I was going to provide as open source. I haven't got it shrink wrapped, but you are more than welcome to a copy of the source if you like.

I created a UT demo account on the server. It can be seen at:
http://www.cantbedone.com/betterlog/Default.aspx?ID=UT

The login info for the mach UT site is below...
Login: MFournier
Password: jumprope

Feel free to mess around with it and see if it is something the could be handy. On the admin screen you can select the skin, as well edit entries, etc...

Just let me know if you are interested and I'll send the source and SQL scripts your way.
