I have just found to my horror that SET PRINTER TO NAME... has two different meanings. In Windows it works as expected. In Windows NT it accesses the spooler. My problem: I am writing a fax class and want to change default printer to the fax driver. Using SET PRINTER TO NAME should work ok but I am testing on my PC - this is a NT4 machine. The application is designed for W95 machines. Before you ask - I was supplied with this NT machine when I started working here! Does anybody know of an alternative to SET PRINTER TO NAME... without using the INI files (I'd rather leave them alone, MS will probably discard them soon).
