I was actually referring to .Net as the hammer... it is the answer to every problem. Instead of trying to figure out what might be the best solution to a problem, .Net is being marketed as the only thing you need.

.Net could be the answer... or maybe VFP... or maybe Access... or how about Excel... or God forbid you actually suggest an off_the_shelf package. Sometimes the answer might not even be software - it could be that you don't do anything! It could be that you upgrade hardware. People are too quick sometimes to suggest an answer without trying to look at the requirements - and see what other solutions there may be.

It has nothing to do with the hammer - the problem is the nail!
