>I have a pc that has a 20Gb drive. It was partitioned to have two logical drives C: (about 17Gb) and D: (about 3Gb). I think I partitioned it but don't remember how and with what. I had XP Pro installed in partition C:. and all kind of old program files. I thought that if I reinstall XP it will clean up the drive and I will have one logical partition. But now, I just noticed that I have two copies of XP installed, one on C, one on D.

If you boot to the XP cd aren't you given options to do partitioning and formatting before you install the OS?
