Kevin,

It seems obvious that a community of human beings will not join you en masse no matter how often you repeat yourself, so if you want to "help" the best assistance is to provide clear advice on how VFP people can future-proof their current work.

What about the VFP mtdll? Let him develop in VFP and when (if?) the time comes he can ease across to dotNET without having to sacrifice all his hard work.

Also encourage him to use Views and/or make allowance for other backends so the data can be upsized to Oracle or SQL Server, always a useful first step when contemplating a conversion.

Some simple design decisions at this time will make it incredibly easy for VFP stalwarts to insure their futures. IMHO that is something they are more likely to listen to than repeated exhortations. Just MHO, though.

Regards

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
