Yes, right.

Years ago, that would have been done with the FDISK utility, which could be placed on a diskette.

Nowadays, I think all the required support for managing partitions is included in the setup program, both in Windows 2000 and Windows XP. I don't remember all the details, but I think you just have to look carefully when you start the install.
