Hello UT,

I know it might not be the best place to ask about this subject but maybe somebody knows about it...

I was wondering if there's any kind of ownership on archived Usenet posts.

Would it be illegal to extract some archived Usenet posts (grabbed from Google Groups for example) and publish them on a website? (always mentionning the original post's author of course)

I know Usenet is quite public... whatever you post there can be seen (and used?) by anybody... I know I could start my own archived posts database from now on... but what if I want to get older posts? Can I just "extract" them from existing archive databases?

Any hint, documentation, etc.. will be very appreciated..

Thanks in advance...
