This is going way out in left field but maybe there's file corruption somewhere. You could try the usual rename of FOXUSER.*, running VFPClean etc.
A couple of times I've run into inexplicable problems that I eventually traced to method code in .VCXs and .SCXs that was somehow corrupted. Creating a new class or screen and copy/pasting the code into the new one fixed those.
Other than that, I don't know... maybe you've found an undocumented reserved word.
