If you want to insert the ESC codes yourself, you must use the Generic/text only printer driver, meaning that your report will look like a good old dos report.

To set up a virtual printer, you use the 'Add printer' function in Windows, and you select the same printer, but you give it a new name, and change the properties of the 'new' printer.
