>>For the vfp-community the interesting thing about Clickwork is that it's trialware entirely written in vfp. Although it's not the first trialware product (see for example, Michael Asherman's Montage), it has been a challenging endeavour and it may well lead to at least one article about 'How to Write Trialware with Vfp'.

Hi Gary,
That was Peter's line, not mine. I don't have a separate trial version from my fully functional product. Try searching for references to Konxise, Armadillo, and ReFox in conjunction with VFP. Sorry, but I have no experience with any of these products.
My own preference is for a subscription-based model. Paid subscribers get access to the latest program updates, premium content, and support on a password-protected web site. This may not be suitable for every type of product, but I think I can make it work for what I have in mind. The concept remains to be proven, however, as I am only just putting the E-commerce piece in place right now (using a service called RegNow).
While I don't, at least for the moment, have much interest in software protection schemes, I am very interested in the general subject of shareware marketing. I expect to publish some reference material on this, after I've spent a little more time at actually doing it for myself. Good luck with your own efforts!
Mike
