For fast and professional barcodes printing.. There is labeling printers knowing as Thermal Transfer Printers.. Zebra, Argox, Eltron are some brand names samples..

Those printers are made for labeling only.. The unity printing cost are expressive economical (than any other type of printing)..

Every application has its own standard.. All over the world there is app. for standards as EAN-13, EAN-8, UPCA, UPCE, I2of5 and others, many others.. The choice of what standard it is full related of what type of app. are you planning to start..

As instance, here in Brazil there is a company named Society EAN of Brazil.. It's purpose it is to control every barcode created in the market (to avoid repetitions).. EAN-13 it is the Brazilian standards for industrialized products..

Other important choice it is on what kind of Barcode readers to use on your app.

Laser, InfraRed, PEN, 360o. Laser are some types of readers..
