Thanks to both of you for confirming my thoughts on this. At least I haven't been wasting my time when there was an easier way. It's good to know that it will be in VFP 9. I think I read that somewhere, but had forgotten.

I don't have to do this too often, so I've just SCANned the view when I needed to look at "current" data, but there must be a way to get the data as it currently exists. Is there or are we just left to more "manual" approaches.
