>Come On. Things in the US aren't bad at all, in fact arguably they are the best in the world. Some facts:
>- the US has the biggest economy on the planet
>
http://www.rescueamericanjobs.org/articles/index.php?info=top-100-worlds-largest-economiesThe website name ought to tell you that something is changing
>- US unemployement is one of the lowest in the G7
>
http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2002/sept/wk1/art03.htmThe definition of "unemployed" is always an issue with stats like these. They rarely portray people who cannot find work as much as they define people still in contact with some govt agency while looking for work.
Also, these are as at 2000. Major MAJOR shfts since then!
>- the averge US citizen makes one of the highest per captia incomes
>
http://www.finfacts.com/biz10/globalworldincomepercapita.htmAgain, it's falling rapidly, but that is not a part of these stats.
>- gas prices in the US are some of the world's lowest. If gas gets to $5 per US gallon, the country will survive. Germany, Britian, and Italy all have gas above $5 and are some of the world's largest economies
>
http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/statistics/world_gasoline_prices.htmlIt would be interesting to see what the prices are WITHOUT taxes. Theoretically they would all be the same. interesting, too, that a California related page doesn't show the price of gas in Mexico.
Nothing here to indicate the trends (except that WalMart, which produces NOTHING, is the second largest corporation in the world) that might tell why people are worried.
Did you find a site showing PERSONAL debt per capita???
cheers
