Actually, what I did try last night was to add the invoice
table again aliased.

Then when I dropped an aliased field on the report, it showed
fine. No fields from the original table showed at all.

So I removed the table, re-added it, then re-added the fields to
the report and all is fine.

It doesn't answer why it was happing, but I at least got past
it.
