From most of the numbers I scanned, the Pentium M seems to be a bit faster than Barton cores of the same frequency. Since a Barton 2500 (at 1800 Mhz) is faster nearly all cases (and sometimes a lot), I'ld guess for the Pentium M at about 1500 Mhz to be equally fast. But since the architectures differ quite a lot, you might see some apps doing better than others. Warning: those numbers were read. I haven't had my hands long enough on a Pentium M to get enough of my own data.
