Jordan,

You are constraining this isue far too tightly. The problem is not the lazy/inept/incompetent employee(s) - people have always understood that such people should be fired without much problem.
The issue is that, by moving to China or India, ALL employees are being fired, not for laziness, not for ineptness, not for incompetence, etc. but strictly for more profit.
Now I understand that no business is a 'social club' and that all business exists to make profit. But you conveniently forget that most businesses have decades/a century of presence in a town/city and through all that time they got much much $$$ benefits from that place, both local and state. Tax "holidays" are the most common, but there are other benefits bestowed too. Suddenly these are now all forgotten.
Even if you have business education from here (as opposed to Bulgaria or USSR) you are very very much over-simplifying the whole issue. But I must admit that you are parrotting the same "logic" used by such businesses when they leave a locality to relocate in China.

Your turn will come if this is allowed to continue. It is just a matter of time. But it is predictable that it will start within your lifetime. Then we will see how nice and simple the issue is for you.
What businesses do when they move to China to lower their costs is the moral equivalent of a father deciding that he simply cannot afford his new-born child so he drives out to the countryside and walks into the woods and leaves the child there and he offers the child his "good luck" as he leaves it there.
We put people in jail here for such actions. Businesses get away with it - even get praise in the form of higher stock prices on the exchange!
